TRESTLES is a family owned and operated restaurant where excellent quality in Character, Food and Service is lived out.

OUR VISION is to create a growing community of regular guests who experience excellent quality in Character, Food & Service every time they visit us!

Mimi jose wedWe, Jose and Mimi Espinoza, met 30 years ago working for Maria Xanthakis in Huntington Beach, California's favorite restaurant, Pero's Spicery. There were heat lamps between us and the rest is history. We raised four great sons and currently have three daughter-in-laws and five grandchildren living in Colorado and California.

We love Jesus (1 John 4:19), we love people and we love food.

Jose was head chef at Pero's, producing delectable, daily dishes as well as seasonal multi-course wine tasting dinners in union with some of California's great vineyards. He has worked for Duke's Restaurant, of Hawaii and served as General Manager for Zubie's Dry Dock of Huntington Beach and as Leadership Development General Manager for Sweet Tomatoes in the Denver market. Jose also served in Christian ministry for over 12 years Mimi worked as a waitress, bartender and manager for various restaurants including The Family Fish House, Hamburger Hamlet and Dominique's in Washington, DC before moving to California to study accounting at CSULB and meet Jose. As an accountant, she worked for KPMG, Hennessy Accounting Services and managed the books for our church in HB while home schooling our younger boys.

The name, Trestles Coastal Cuisine, was selected to evoke thoughts of perfection; the perfect day, the perfect wave, the perfect meal. Between San Diego and Orange counties lies a special stretch of shoreline. Dubbed 'Trestles' by the world's best surfers (you have to walk under the railroad tracks to get to the beach) this stretch offers great waves which break in both directions. So, if you are regular or goofy footed you love this place!

We are so excited to finally own our own place and develop the kind of atmosphere where you feel it is 'your restaurant', the place you proudly bring your out of town guests and are given the welcome and recognition that make you feel special every time.
